The Colorado Lab team is pleased to share a leadership transition that honors our founding vision and advances a new chapter of leadership for the organization.

Dr. Elysia Versen, who joined the Colorado Lab in its first year as Deputy Director, has been named Executive Director. Dr. Whitney LeBoeuf, also a founding member, will serve as Deputy Executive Director and continue leading the Linked Information Network of Colorado (LINC). Together, they bring deep experience working alongside state leaders to leverage evidence building and data to inform policy and program development.

After 8 years as founding Executive Director, Dr. Kristin Klopfenstein has transitioned into a Senior Project Director role where she will continue leading key initiatives and working closely with partners. “It has been an incredible honor to establish and grow the Colorado Lab,” said Dr. Klopfenstein. “I’m excited to return to the work I love most—leading projects in close partnership with our collaborators in state government and supporting organizations.”

“These leadership transitions position the Colorado Lab to both maintain continuity and expand our capacity at a critical moment,” said Dr. Versen. “As Colorado navigates a tight budget environment, our strong, trusted relationships across all three branches of state government remain the foundation of our work—enabling us to build and translate rigorous evidence aligned with the real decisions leaders face and to support smarter investments in what works.”
