Nonprofit Sector Learning Community
There have been a number of exciting developments since last spring when we announced our collaboration with Philanthropy Colorado to adopt a community of practice (CoP) approach to enhance funder capacity to support grantees’ use of data for learning (April article).
As a diverse mix of foundation representatives began to participate in the CoP, news quickly spread generating enthusiasm in the nonprofit sector, leading to an expanded approach bringing nonprofits into the CoP. Representatives of small to large nonprofit organizations were identified and engaged by ResultsLab, a new partner in this work.

“The CoP provides funders and nonprofits with a safe space and dedicated time to collaboratively explore pathways to create culture change, moving funders and grantees away from viewing evaluation as compliance and control to a place of trust and shared evidence building,” said Kristin Klopfenstein, Executive Director of the Colorado Lab.
Following initial independent meetings, the CoP will reconvene later this month bringing together participating representatives of both the nonprofit organizations and foundations. For more information, please contact Dr. Kristin Klopfenstein
