Allie joined the Colorado Lab because she believes that smart policy and compassionate people can make daily life better for Coloradans. Prior to joining the Colorado Lab, Allie worked as an early childhood educator in Kansas City, Missouri. This firsthand experience in the classroom pushed her to pursue her master’s in early childhood policy at Teachers College, Columbia University. Following that, she worked in early childhood education policy, research, professional development, and program implementation in Wisconsin and New York; at the University of Virginia’s Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning; and at the University of Arkansas Early Care and Education Projects.
Allie’s heart is in the education world, and her work at the Colorado Lab typically focuses on early childhood, education, and child welfare. The Essential Element that speaks most strongly to her is sustaining change. While it’s important for our work to be actionable, it’s critical that those actions are ones that are meaningful to our partners and the people we serve for the long haul.
Allie finds joy in competitive quizzing and is a proud Jeopardy! loser.
