Fostering Opportunities Results of a Randomized Controlled Trial
Education
Report
This report is the final results from a randomized controlled trial. The researchers found that within one year of having access to Fostering Opportunities, students’ attendance and behavior at school improved (i.e., fewer suspension incidents). Within two years of having access to Fostering Opportunities, students’ rate of passing their classes improved. More research is needed to determine if Fostering Opportunities impacts high school graduation rates. Descriptive results suggest that within one year, there was a 50.57% increase in the number of high school students who were on track to graduate.
