Our partnerships with agencies are voluntary and the Colorado Lab does not perform an auditing function. Rather, the Colorado Lab serves as a strategic partner to support good government.

Although this work is initially guided by priorities set forth by the Governor’s Office, the Colorado Lab is not an arm of government and it is not political — it is a resource and a partner. We meet government partners where they are to:

  • Identify pain points
  • Listen and understand needs in context
  • Strategize and test potential solutions
  • Support action based on findings
  • Communicate the findings in context

The Colorado Lab operates through the philosophy of mutualism, seeking partnerships that benefit both the agency partners and the residents of the state.
